Abstract

Muscle stretching is a very beneficial and effective exercise to our health, and one that we can do alone at any time. This paper reviewed the significance and merit of
stretching exercises for everyone in daily life.
The purpose of stretching exercises for sportspeople is to prevent an injury and to help undergo rehabilitation to regain physical fitness. In daily life we can do stretching exercises for refreshment and recovery from fatigue. The principle of stretching exercises is : the pumping action by muscle contraction accelerates blood flow and circulation so that it raises body temperature. Thus muscle stretching is effective for the relaxation of physical and mental tension and the recovery from exhaustion.
