Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to clarify the ideal way of how the PISA type “Reading comprehension” can be acquired in learning activity of an introductory period in “Read” area by means of effective methods and techniques of instruction. We can assume that the following points enable this aim successful: 1. To provide various information to children through frequent repetition of reading picture books, 2. To make them aware of the commonness of each story as the“connection” should be its keyword, and 3. To make them express their own ideas of a story on worksheets. In learning activities at the introductory period of “reading”, we should encourage them not only to enjoy stories and have his / her own ideas but also to inquire about sequence of sentences in terms of the plot or the construction. This study is characteristic of how the practical attempt could verify the technical betterment of teaching devices at the early period of
‶reading”.
