Abstract

This research proposes a method to raise self-efficacy for students with learned helplessness (LH). What is the mechanism of LH? Students will need to have some success experience to overcome LH. They can increase their self-efficacy by experiences of such success. Students will be lectured once a week for 15 weeks. They can be classified according to the degree of their understanding. Then again they are classified by test. There is a test every 4 weeks (1 period). Finally, they will be evaluated by Final exam. Students learn one theme in 4 weeks. They will experience their success by learning in several small steps. Their successful experience in such small steps will improve LH and enhance their self-efficacy. The main purpose of this research is to make students learn by themselves.
